Preservation
San Pedro Bay Historical Society encourages the identification, restoration and preservation of historic buildings and landmarks. It played a leading role in the creation of the Vinegar Hill Historic Preservation Overlay Zone and continues to work as an advocate for the historical appreciation of the entire San Pedro Bay area.
Given the Muller House in 1986, the SPBHS restored the 1899 Colonial Revival home over the next four years to open it to the public as a museum in 1990.
See the Research Page for contacts and references to help with preservation and restoration.
Special Projects
Windows Into the Past is the creation of downtown museum displays found in shop windows that combine to create a historical walking tour of the area. At the end of the year, a brochure of those places of interest was created to celebrate San Pedro’s 125th anniversary in 2013.
